Microsoft have announced that Orion will become the next major version of Dynamics CRM. No longer a Service Update or an Update Rollup, this is the next big version following the release of Dynamic CRM 2011.
It will probably be called Dynamics CRM 2013 – this is yet to be announced – and the target release date if Q3, 2013. If the experience of delays in cross-browser functionality are anything to go by, best not to hold your breath on this date.
The new Flow user interface will be standard in Orion. This was first introduced in Polaris and has been the cause of some anxiety. The office style ribbon that was introduced in Dynamics 2011 will go, and there will be no option to choose between flow and classic forms, as is possible in the present Polaris release.
